Prize Crew Detachment operated out of SocTrang Army Airfield RVN late Jan until April-May 1968. The Project had US Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine air crewmen and was to perform Research & Development while in South Vietnam. Unfortunately, TET happened in February 1968 and the R & D effort became more of an operational effort with limited air strikes directed by the QT-2PC crewmen. The two officers in the picture represented the Air Force (Maj. Bell) and Navy (Ltjg Bowers). It was not uncommon for sorties to be flown by crew members from different services.
